HOW WE’VE GROWN FROM A LOCAL USED PARTS BUSINESS INTO A GLOBAL PROVIDER OF EARTHMOVING PARTS AND EQUIPMENT.

The history of BTP

Best Tractor Parts (BTP) was established in the mid 1980's by Caterpillar distributor Wigmore’s to service the used earthmoving machinery parts market. The company initially focused on dismantling used Caterpillar machines and then selling the used parts.

In 1987, Australian company Emeco purchased BTP from Wigmore's and for the next nine years the company continued to expand within the used earthmoving equipment parts market.

In 1996, Tahmoore negotiated the purchase of BTP from Emeco, and the company continued to cement its position as a major used parts supplier to the mining and earthmoving industries in Australia.

In 2001, a Queensland branch was established to service major mining companies, contractors and government agencies along the east coast of Australia. A second east coast branch was opened in New South Wales in 2005.

In 2010, BTP established BTP Equipment to service the growing mining equipment sales and rental markets with quality, low hour machines.

In 2012, BTP was acquired by global mining services company Ausdrill. Ausdrill is an ASX listed mining services company employing over 4,500 people working across 19 specialist businesses in nine countries. Ausdrill merged its Australian earthmoving equipment rental business into BTP Equipment in 2013 to form one of Australia’s largest mining equipment sales and rental companies.
